Este musical cuenta las historias de un reino lejano, una bruja maldice a un panadero y a su esposa por robar unas habichuelas mágicas. En la búsqueda de los ingredientes necesarios para revertir el hechizo, ambos se adentran en el bosque, al mismo tiempo, cuenta las historias originales algunos de los cuentos infantiles clásicos de manera entrelazada a esta. 

Esta producción cuenta con 3 premios y 7 nominaciones en los premios Tony, asi mismo tiene 5 premios y 8 nominaciones en Drama Desk Award y un Theatre World Award.
